Available All Year
In spring and summer, San Diego Coastal / Inshore fishing provides fly-fishing and light tackle action for calico bass, barracuda, bonito, sand bass, yellowtail, halibut, and white seabass.
During these trips, we fish around the kelp forests of the San Diego coast. Trolling, drifting, looking for birds working, bait fish breaking the surface, and fishing the structure between the beach and the kelp to provide you the best opportunity to hook up with our coastal species.
Prime season on this ranges from April-November. It is dependent upon the water temperatures, which change from year to year.
In the late fall, winter, and early spring months, the majority of the inshore / coastal fishing is bottom fishing with conventional gear in depths from 80 to 300 ft.
We target lingcod, sheephead, halibut, and a variety of rockfish from November through April. Most of these fish are caught at depths too difficult to fly-fish. If you are looking for a fly-fishing trip this time of year, see our bay trips.
All trips include: Boat, Licensed Captain, all fly tackle, flies, and cooler with ice and bottled water.
Not included: Lunch, other beverages, California State Fishing License (can be purchased the day of the trip). Fresh deli sandwiches / sack lunches can be purchased at the landing on the day of the trip. Click HERE to view the Dana Landing Deli menu.
